SETA Accredited Frail & Palliative Care Training Provider

Gerion Care is positioning it's training services towards business managers and owners of existing or newly developed Retirement Villages, Old Age Home and Frail Care centres. Furthermore, we also provide training for the private learner that wants to persue a career or business in caregiving.

The focus being to upskill the institition or individual, enabling them to provide care services to the elderly, bedridden elderly and terminally ill person.

ACCREDITATION

The need for SETA accredited training arises from several gazetted acts, including the Act for the Older Person nr 13 of 2006 Regulation 260 no 33075, which indicates the necessity of accredited caregivers to be on a Register at the Minister’s office of Social Development. To be able to fulfil this act, caregiving courses needed to be accredited.

Thus our course including two accredited certificates:

SAQA ID 117029 (Provide Care to a frail person)
SAQA ID 119565 (Assistance with Palliative care)

This programme is offered to meet all SETA and Department of Education requirements as well as meeting the requirements of the Older Person Act nr 13 of 2006 Regulation 260 no 33075.

WHAT IS GERION CARE'S VISION & MISSION FOR THE FUTURE?

Vision Statement: To be the best Caregiver Training Institution in SA, by preparing future Caregivers to give the best possible care through the AGAPE LOVE of God. To utilize this opportunity as an accredited qualified caregiver, to build his/her private business and creating job opportunities in especially rural areas.

Mission Statement: To give the best hand-on care possible, through safe and effective care at all time. Focus is on the care of the bedridden elderly and patient where total care is needed. The learner caregiver will accept supervision, working under and part of a team whom display effective role modelling, while the caregiver will continuously study to have the necessary knowledge and best skills to be able to take care of the elderly and vulnerable patients, treat them with dignity, respect, love and empathy at all times.

The Objective: Is to increase access to education and learning in the caregiving (health) industry, instead for just a chosen few. This training also gives an opportunity to those whom previously couldn't be trained in a professional courier.

WHAT IS GERION CARE'S WHY?

We are passionate about human life. As a team we want to take the time to honour caregivers and give thanks to them for having the heart to step up, serve and to show love to those in need. The commencment of Gerion Care and this training course sprouted from a personal journey. We were forced because of a lack of options in engaging caregiving for our mother and grandmother, and by divine order I was prepared by a professional career to be able to take care of her and many others. A series of events led us to start this course which enabled us to feed back into our elderly and terminal ill communities.
We are compassionate to others that are engaged in the caring for the elderly, and we will stay committed in the care, aid and sure up the hearts, minds and spirits of caregivers. Also to those that still want to be trained as future caregivers.
